Great Websites for U.S. History Teachers
Here is a list of websites that may be of use to those of you who may be starting to teach U.S. History.
www.wm.edu/hsi/ : contains a variety of "unsolved historic mysteries" that your students can solve. All cases contain all the information you need, as well as questions for students to answer.
www.havefunwithhistory.com/ : Very well organized and attractive looking website that has videos and activities for virtually every significant historical event in U.S. History.
historyplace.com : Contains information on both U.S. and European History. My personal favorite links are listed under "20th Century Topics". These links contain pictures and information on topics such as child labor and Native Americans.
http://www.digitalhistory.uh.edu/learning_history/ : This is a large site with lots of interesting information on a wide variety of historical topics. The link above will take you to the "explorations" page, which contains self contained lessons on various historical events and people, including John Brown, Lynching, and The Rise of the Teenager.
